The Fertiliser Association of Ireland are producing a short video series on the efficient use of fertilisers. The first four videos (shown here) in the series will focus on the (i) importance of taking good soils samples (ii) first steps in starting the fertiliser planning process and (iii) the soil analysis process (iv) soil test results analysis. During the coming year, at key timings for major fertiliser decisions, further videos will be released to guide farmers /advisors on the efficient use of fertilisers. These videos will cover choosing the right fertiliser product and applying it at the right rate, at the right time, and in the right place on the farm.

Precise Application of Fertilisers
Wednesday 12th Feb 2020 in Gurteen College
Teagasc in association with the Fertiliser Association of Ireland held a workshop on the Precise Application of Fertilisers on 12th February 2020 at Gurteen Agricultural College, Ballingarry, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary
This workshop was targeted at field advisors and agri-contractors. There was workshops to demonstrate the correct set up of fertiliser spreaders to deliver the correct rate accurately, as well as Health & Safety and new technologies.
Thank you to the machinery companies for providing the demonstration equipment and to Teagasc.
Launch of Technical Bulletin No.5
At the Fertiliser Association of Ireland annual spring seminar at the Horse & Jockey recently, launching Technical Bulletin No. 5 – “The Importance of Potassium & Agricultural Soils” were Tim Sheils, J. Bolger & Co. Wexford, Mark Plunkett, President of the Fertilizer Association of Ireland & Dr. David Wall Teagasc, Johnstown Castle.
